Not able retrive the data from the ORACLE database.

Hi, I am trying to do a JDBC connection with oracle.When i do a test connection it shows success and when i try to run a query like Select * from xyz table.It keeps on running for infinite time.Whe...

It sounds like a locking issue, i.e. something is probably updating that database table, or maybe locking it for reading. You should check your transaction isolation settings - you might be using SERIALIZABLE rather than READ_COMMITTED.
