expired certificate for mutual ssl

Hi Team,

I have a mock service in soapui. I am trying to do 2 way Mutual SSL. I have generated self signed certificates for both client and server. Following is the link that I have am using as a reference. https://techannotation.wordpress.com/2012/06/22/tomcat-mutual-authentication-over-ssl/

The issue is, even though my client certificate is expired still communication is happening.

Do I need to do some other configuration?
