I don't know if SoapUI developers read these forum (or how frequently they read it).
I opened an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/SmartBear/soapui/issues/534
For me, there is nothing in the SoapUI log tab that indicates an attempt to switch workspaces. The error log tab is blank.

Fixed by 5.7.0. Sorry for inconviniences.

Tried it running SoapUI in Administrator mode: no difference. Tried completely uninstall and reinstall: no difference. Reverted to use of SoapUI 5.5.0: all is working well again.
This definitely seems to be a major bug.
This all BTW is on x64 Windows 7 (yes, I know!)...

Unable to revert to 5.5.0 since, I uninstalled that version and also, not able to find the 5.5.0 version to download it again.
Please suggest to me it is a very necessary tool for me.

We have the same issue with SoapUI 5.6.0 on Windows 10

I am not aware of the fix for this issue. I am still continuing the 5.5.0 version.

There is workaroud . Select workspace in version 5.5 ( instaled sepatately ) Then when soapui 5.6 start, it rememer, what was last selected in version 5.5
