Using certificates to sign SAML in soapUI

Hi,

I'm new to SAML and certificates, so I hope I can explain my problem well.
I want to access a WebServices which requires a signed SAML.
For signing and encrypting I have to use a certificate.

Is this possible with soapUI Pro 4.5.1? (If yes, it is also possible with soapUI Pro 4.0.1?)

Best regards
Nico

  • Hi Nico,

yes - soapUI Pro 4.0.X support SAML 1.X, soapUI Pro 4.5.X supports SAML 2.0 also.

    Hi Ole,

thanks for your very quick answer.

I'm sorry but I don't know how to use soapUI 4.0.1 regarding this issue.
I created an outgoing WS-Security-Configuration but I just can add a static SAML here.
In soapUI Pro 4.5.1 there is a type "SAML (Form)", which I can create a SAML using a certificate. This doesn' exists in soapUI 4.0.1.
What do I have to do here to achieve the same result?

    Best regards
    Nico
  • Hi Nico,

admittedly, the SAML support in 4.0.1 is somewhat limited; you have to enter the XML of the SAML assertion manually - any "dynamic" nature will have to be done via property-expansion or inline-scripting.

    regards!
