I'm sorry if the delay is causing troubles for you. Right now we're all focused on the new REST release (read about it here viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17598&p=40806&hilit=size#p40806), but we'll make sure to revisit this as soon as possible.

In any case because of the broken HTTP session in version 4.5.2 and extremely outdated libraries I am stuck on version 4.5.1.

So sorry for the delay with the Maven plugins, this is mainly due to our internal migration from Maven 1 to Maven 3.
We're currently working on releasing the new plugins.

So sorry to hear that you are not able to upgrade to the latest version of SoapUI.
Could you elaborate on which kind of libraries you believe are extremely outdated and what exact bug is stopping you from upgrade?

For starters, Groovy is at version 1.8.0; the latest released is 2.1.7.
One bug that that was fixed sometime around 1.8.4 was handling of escaped characters in JSON http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GROOVY-4988
We use those a lot.
