Lines 124 & 125 in ..../soapui-4.0.1/bin/soapui.sh read as follows:
#uncomment to disable browser component
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Dsoapui.jxbrowser.disable=true"
Un-commented line above, problem goes away.
What exactly is the "Browser Component?"
