soapUI 4.5.0 hangs, excessive graphical tearing

I've been having some issues with soapUI 4.5.0 and 4.5.0 beta 1. Whenever I scroll through my list of services, list of methods in a service, or through a request I can scroll for 3 seconds before soapUI locks up for 30-40 seconds. When it stops hanging I either get graphical tearing or all of the text is gone/replaced by little box artifacts. After a few seconds of this if I scroll again the whole process repeats.

I've tried the -Dsoapui.jxbrowser.disable=true trick in soapUI-4.5.0.vmoptions. I've tried updating java, my graphics card drivers, and uninstalling and reinstalling soapUI multiple times. Nothing seems to allow me to continue using soapUI.
