screen refresh / lockup / unable to save project

Hi,
Win XP pro SP2, Lenovo T61. 4 G RAM. Running 2 displays.
soapUI Pro 3.6.1.

Crash for 2nd or 3rd time in a month.
soapUI suddenly stops responding to right-click; some widgets start to not refresh, attempts to repaint screen (minimize then restore) fail - only some of the screen repaints, rest remains blank.
Managed to get File dropdown to display and clicked 'save all projects' but no joy, work was not saved.
Last operation I remember trying was trying to move a test step..... but not certain that was before or after the problem started.

Another, maybe related, symptom - if I try to move soapUI display to monitor #2, it becomes very sluggish, and does not refresh at all well. It does not like being moved to monitor 2. I was not doing that before todays crash, though. This is the only app I have that acts this way, so I don't think it is my system or video memory.

Not expecting miracles, this looks like a nasty problem. Just figured I'd mention it ... or in case it jars someone's memory

In the meantime, I've set to natural look & feel, and have enabled auto save every 30 minutes ....

A bit of clarification - instead of 'screen' I should have said 'application window'.
The repainting problem is only the soapUI window, other applications (firefox, outlook & excel ) were running normally.
  • Wow, never heard of the #2 monitor issue before -- sure sounds weird.

I'll add it to our backlog and hopefully the dev team can have a look at it soon.

    Thanks!

  • Hi!

    hmm.. you could try adding

    -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true

to the java options in the .vmoptions or soapui-pro.bat file... does that seem to help?

    regards,

  • Been a long time, but thought I'd update the info -
now running Windows 7 Pro, on a new computer with and soapUI Pro 4.5.1 .

Have not hit the problem since, and am happily able to use my larger second monitor for soapUI.

No idea which of the many variables fixed my issue .... but it's all good now
