meanwhile , I have been getting following warning in soapui-error.log file for most of my run

2014-01-16 08:43:33,480 WARN [errorlog] Failed to delete temporary project file; /Users/myusername/Documents/CORE_API/SoapUI_Test_Projects/project-temp-804672257050444419.xml

not sure if this is a permissions issue, and if it has any connections with my original issue here. (account I am using on osx had admin rights)
