REST services and X509 certificate?

Hello,

I am trying to test a REST service that is not a Web Service (does not have WSDL added). It so does not allow me to attach an X509 certificate to the requests.

Is there a way? The server expects authentication.

    I have been told by SoapUI support that this is impossible at the moment (only for SOAP requests, not for REST ones) and they hope to put it in the next major release. I am posting, as I got the answer to my own question.
