[Resolved] composite and simple project

Question

HiRecently we have converted a simple soapUI project into composite project.The developer at another location imported soapUI project as we import simple soapUI project and made few changes. I see that the changes he made are not reflected in the composite project. Then I realised I need to click on 'Refresh Composite Project' to see his changes.Why is it so? Why can't I see changes done by the other developers right away?What standards should we follow so that we do not encounter this situation? Should every developer strictly import as a composite project and not simple project? Why soapUI can not restrict it?Thanks.

Hi!When working with composite projects, and want to update your project, you have to do it manually as you describe.You may be able to do this automatically (on save) if you use a Save Script and reload the project from there. However this is a bit outside of the support offering.If you want, we could create a feature request for automatically reloading composite projects.-- RegardsErikSmartBear Sweden

Well, I not entirely sure what you mean, but you could password protect your projects: http://www.soapui.org/Working-with-Proj ... encryption

In the first place I was asking bit of wrong question due to lack of knowledge that time.

When we convert simple project into composite, ideally we should delete simple project XML file. Since we were maintaining simple project file as well as composite project structure, few people were updating tests into simple project file and that's why their changes were not reflecting into composite project.

One instruction for the people who create composite project in the middle - delete simple project XML file so that it is also deleted from version control tool to avoid further confusion of maintaining both the copies.
