[Resolved] Any way to search the results in response window?

Is there a way to natively "search" or "find" specific text strings within the response window of SoapUI Pro 4.5.0? I currently copy and paste to my favorite text editor.

Have been wondering the same. Currently using your solution.
  • Hi,

Ctrl-F should bring up the search dialog. We had some problems with the response window editor in previous versions of SoapUI, but this should have been resolved in the latest version.
Can you see if you get the same result in 4.5.2?

    Best regards,

You're correct, I was able to use CTL+F if I have the "Outline" view of the results selected. I missed that before. It seems to only search the field names and not the data results. Also seems to not work in the "XML", "Raw", or "Overview" views. Not sure if that's intended. Unfortunately I'm not able to install 4.5.2 to test.

    Thanks for the response.

I think I just figured out what I was doing wrong:
When you select the Response tab and try to search with Crtl-F it does not work. You first have to click in the text windows of the response in order to get search to work.
Slight annoyance ... but it does work.
  • Hi,

Yes, Ctrl + F only works when the text area has focus. Personally I think this is quite reasonable, but one thing we'll probably try to improve in SoapUI is to give visual cues as to which component has focus.

    Cheers!
