removing test suite in a composite project

Hello,
I have just started experimenting with composite project and working on introducing to other engineers. I have noticed that when a test case is removed in the project, the corresponding xml file in the testsuite directory is deleted.

However, if the testsuite itself if deleted, the testsuite folder is not deleted.
Is this expected behavior?
so since the folder is still there, when I reload the project, the testsuite comes back.
