MRutten : I would suggest you to contact smartbear support team for this, they can resolve this issue on following link:

Meanwhile you can create a backup copy of your existing workspace.

I created a support case.
The projects that were on a network drive were causing the long closing time.
This was the answer of support and what solved my problem:
"In this case, I suggest that you uncheck the "Preference/UI/Normalize line-break" option in ReadyAPI. After this, save your projects to the network drive.
