version 3.0b1 seems to have the same problem out of mem problem.
HOWEVER, 3.0b1 doesn't appear to permanently "lock up" so i was able to close down projects one by one and delete some of my generated requests from testcases (presumably this freed up mem?) then i was able to save the project.
