Question regarding generators and parameter

I am new to Load UI and wanted to get more information on different generators. Specifically for Ramp Sequence and Variance.
I noticed that rate can go into negative values. Does anyone know why it goes to negative?
Also, rate unit is in Min or Sec, but other parameters are in second. In that case how to specify values?

Here is what I am trying to achive.. I want to reach peak load (e.g. 15requests 4 times in 2 hrs of duration). How do I achive this and what generator I should use?

    Use the Ramp Sequence generator. You can double-click on a knob to manually enter a value (e.g. 3600 seconds = 1 hour).
