Problem shutting down SoapUI Pro v4

When I try to shut down I do get the "Exit SoapUI" dialog. When I select Yes, the application just hangs for a couple of minutes doing nothing. It does not attempt to shut down. I can actually continue to work in the application after a few minutes.
In the error log, the following is displayed
"ERROR:java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space"
It does seem to be using a lot of memory in general. It also takes well over 30 seconds to do a normal save. All of this started happening with the newest version.
Is there a minimum Java version needed? It's not stated in the system requirements. All other computer requirements are met/exceeded.
