Problem Renaming Test Cases

Hello,

I am new Soap UI user (Soap UI Pro 4.5.2) and I am having a problem with renaming a test case. I am working in a composite project. To rename a test case, I am simply right clicking on it and giving it a new name, then clicking okay. Next, I click File, Save All Projects. Then I right click on my project and choose Refresh Composite Project. Soap UI appears to be saving my renamed test case, but also saving a copy of the original test case. My expectation is that the test case will be renamed, without retaining the original. How do I keep this from occurring?

Thanks,
Matt E.
  • Hello Matt,

First of all, welcome to the SoapUI Pro Community!

Second, i've tried reproducing the exact steps you are doing as follows:

    Select test case
    Press F2 (Rename)
    Write new name
Select OK (Observe the change in the folder to the new name)
    File -> Save all projects
    Select Project
    Press F5 (Reload Composite Project)
    Select the folder
    Press OK
    Observe the folder

Only the new name of the TestCase lingers for me. I tested using Windows 7 64-bit.
Can you try to reproduce the issue and include some images showing what's going on?
Also, what OS are you running?

    Best regards,

    Thanks Mikael.

I am running Win 7 32 bit. I walked through these steps again and SoapUI is only showing the newly named test case. At the current time, I am the only person with the SoapUI composite project open, I don't know if that would make a difference. Over the next couple of days, I will try to nail down exactly the conditions that caused this to happen.

    Thanks for you help.
  • Hi Matt,

Let us know if you manage to pinpoint the conditions that cause this, and we'll happily investigate further.
