Point and click assertion not working in SoapUI Pro 4.5.0/1

I am experiencing a serious and strange problem, as the point and click assertion stopped working in both SoapUI Pro 4.5.0 and 4.5.1
The problem first started to occur in 4.5.0, and then I upgraded to 4.5.1, but that didn't solve the problem. As a remedy I tried to clean up my workspace, the soapui settings, and recreated my project. I don't a have an explanation.
Please advise how to debug this. We purchased the Pro License and this function is critical to the successful delivery of my project. I followed the video closely ( www.soapui.org/Data-Driven-Testing/func ... tests.html ), and I was able to use this feature as late as yesterday. Basically when I right click on the result, nothing happens, there is no add assertion to content popup? Very strange.
Please advise.
