Parallel Testing

I am trying to run 3 tests from a Test suite parallel, and I am not able to execute my tests as I get failed tests. Only one of my test is getting pass result and rest are getting failed.

Tue Apr 08 14:46:14 PDT 2014:ERROR:Exception in request: org.apache.http.NoHttpResponseException: The target server failed to respond
Tue Apr 08 14:46:14 PDT 2014:ERROR:An error occurred [The target server failed to respond], see error log for details

Above is the error I am getting in SoapUI log, as test suite log is disabled in parallel execution. Any help would be very grateful. And, by the way parallel is spelled wrong in Test suite Log while running parallel tests, Smart Bear may want to fix it.

    Hi,

    The error message says the target server failed to respond, so maybe the server is down or is overloaded.

    Are you going through a proxy to reach the server? Do the tests work when ran synchronously?

    I've opened a bug SOAP-2134 to report the misspelling in the TestSuite log.

    NO I am not going through proxy to reach the server. And same result when i run it synchronously too. The tests would pass if I run it sequentially.

    If they pass when ran sequentially then they pass when run synchronously as well. I would check the server side for the parallel failures you are getting as the server may not be able to handle it. Also, please post the soapui-errors.log and the soapui.log from <SoapUI Pro install>\bin directory. If you are using Mac OSX then it would be in Applications/Soapui-Pro-4.6.4.app/Contents/.

    Looking in the logs I don't see anything suspect to SoapUI Pro. Let us know what the server side team finds.

    Hi,

    I have one more problem, When I am running data driven tests with all the data in data source, I need to put a delay of 50000ms every step which is delaying our whole testing process. I wanted to know if I could perform tests with lesser delay. Even If i put delay of 30000ms, the test case fails.

    Hi,

    Yes, you can perform the test with lesser delay. The delay test step takes a value in milliseconds.

    Are you able to find any failures occurring on the server side when running tests in parallel?

    But, When I try to run a test, for instance with 35000ms delay which is (35seconds) the test fails, I need the delay to be put at {40000ms-50000ms} for the test to pass. So, If I have 10 rows in data source and 2 steps with 2 delay of 50000ms then its taking me almost 10 minutes for 1 test. I want to minimize this time to 10 or 15 seconds which would make our testing faster.

    You probably need to put the delay test steps outside of the datasource loop, such as one before the datasource test step and one after the datasource loop test step based off how long it is taking to complete one test case.

    I don't think you got my question right. I am attaching a screen shot of SOAP ui page with my test case and test steps. I have one delay there outside data source, which is 50000ms. I would like to have this delay to be lesser.
