NullPointerException when opening test items

Observed in version: soapUI Pro 4.5.0
OS: Windows XP SP3

From time to time it happens that I cannot open any test steps or other items like test cases, etc. When double-clicking the item nothing happens. Inspecting the error log window gives the following exception: java.lang.NullPointerException[/font:2zlty57e]. Please see the attached file for the complete stack trace.

The only resolution is restarting soapUI which is pretty annoying.

    Hi!

    I totally understands that this is annoying. I have never heard of it before -- would you be willing to try soapUI Pro 4.5.1 (which is the latest release)?

    Hi,

    you could try switching to the standard desktop (instead of the tabbed one) - in the global preferences UI Settings tab.

    Unfortunately we have no way of reproducing this currently - which is why we haven't been able to fix it either - will let you know when we do.
