No such property: testRunner for class: Script1

Hi, I really like soapUI but am getting an error to do with testRunner. I have a 1 line script assertion in my test request. When I run the test (or even just the script) I get the error: "No s...

May I add that it is any statement I try and do with "testRunner" that causes the same error.
For example:
targetStep = testRunner.testCase.getTestStepByName("GetUserData")
will cause the same error.
