Thank you for your reply. I did as you instructed, but got a message saying that javafx was an unknown command, so that got me going down the right path. I then tried to run "updateJavaFx.bat" from the command line (running as administrator), and got no message whether or not it was successful. From here, I typed "javaws -viewer" in the eviware\loadUI-1.5.0 directory, went into the Java control panel and deleted all registered applications (loadUI was the only one) from the Java Cache Viewer and then removed temporary internet files (from Java Console, not from Windows Internet Options). I ran LoadUI again (normally, by clicking on the icon) and now all is well. So somehow it looks like the JavaFX install failed and continued to fail, no matter how many times I installed or uninstalled LoadUI.
I'm not sure how to figure out why it happened at this point (and I likely clobbered any chance of reproducing it on this machine), but I would be glad to provide you with any info you need.
