I just did this:
- Everything is a composite project. Not sure if this makes a difference, but it makes it easier to track the following.
- I have a test step with several assertions, and everything (the step and each individual assertion) now has an ID.
- Start SoapUI, open the test step.
- Remove one of the assertions (it used to be XPath) and add a new assertion (now Groovy Script).
- Name the new one the same as the old one. I do not think this makes a difference?
- Save the project, exist SoapUI.
- Note that the new assertion does not have an ID. I would expect at this point for it to have one!
- Start SoapUI, open the test step and the assertion. Change nothing!
- Save the project, exist SoapUI.
- Note the assertion now has an ID.
