how to stop fast growing settings.xml

The settings.xml file I need has a size of less than 100kb.

However every time I close Ready! Api 1.9.0 – SoapUI NG the size more or less doubles. Actually I have a size of more than 120.000kb  .

When I have a look in this file I see that inside the soapui-project settings there are copies of old versions of the same soapui-project settings.

Something like :

<settings today>

               blabla

               <settings yesterday>

                              blabla

                              <settings daybeforeyesterday>

                                            blabla

</settings daybeforeyesterday >

</settings yesterday>

</settings today>

When I clean up the file and start SoapUi again it works fine until I save the project because then the size is the double of what is was before the clean up.

How to stop this?
