Understand your concern and you are the good judge for your amount of efforts that went in for the day. I am afraid if there is any such feature available to recover when it happens like you mentioned.
However, there is auto save interval can be set in File->Preferences->UI Settings -> Auto Save and set some value. I believe this can at least minimize the impact.
