How can I create a new workspace and set it as default?

I'm using the open source version of loadui on one of my companies computers. I don't have administrative rights. Whenever I install loadui and soapui, the computer puts the .loadui folder, soapui-settings.xml, and default-soapui-workspace.xml in a username that has administrative rights. The installers don't even give me the option to select which user I want these files created in. Because it's an administrative user and I don't have administrative rights, I can't run loadui. Whenever I try to run loadui, I'll get an error message stating that loadui was "Unable to create directory". My question is, how do I create a new workspace and have loadui reference that workspace instead of the default one? In soapui, you can toggle between workspaces but I haven't found a way to do that in loadui. If you can help me set the default workspace path that'd be great! Thanks

  • Hmm...

Is the .loadui folder created in your home folder? Can you create new folders in your home folder (in Windows explorer)?

Hi Henrik thanks for the reply,

By default, the .loadui folder is created in the admin user folder. If I delete said folder, try to point to another directory path, and launch loadui, the .loadui folder will automatically be created in the admin user folder again. I can create folders in my home folder. This might be an issue with my client's computer but I thought I'd ask here as well as I'm stuck. It's just odd that loadui will create the .loadui folder without asking for a preferred path but I might be odd for thinking it odd :p.

    Thanks!
