Form View Questions/Issues + Save Prompts
Hi
My company has recently purchased soapUI Pro and I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with.
The background is that we are testing our web services using REST Services in soapUI. We have WADL files for our services, and create the REST Services in soapUI using Add WADL. All of our services use the POST HTTP method. Input parameters are passed as part of the request body.
1. I have noticed that the Form view does not remember data that is typed into it. I can type values into the form, submit the request and the values become part of the request body. However, if I close the Request and re-open it, the values are still reflected in Outline view but the form is empty. Is this normal/intended behaviour?
2. This is related to the question above. When using the form for input of values, as noted above the values are not kept when I close and re-open the Request. If I then enter values into the form again, and submit the request, in Outline and Request views, the data values have been added to the request body a second (or third, fourth, etc.) time. That is, I end up with multiple copies of the tags being submitted - see Screenshot2.jpg attached. Should this happen?
3. While working with the services, I often get prompted to save a file with the name of the Service itself (see Screenshot3.jpg). This seems to be in addition to the xml settngs files that are already present (in the case of a Composite Project, or the xml project file if not). Could you please tell me what this file is and why the app continually prompts to save it? It seems to be related to POST methods. I had set up the Twitter example from the doco, and when I added a POST method soapUI started prompting me to save a file for it as well. The file itself, when saved, seems to be binary or encrypted.
Thanks for your help
Matt
