Doubt on Load Generation

Hi,

I have written a groovy script which logs in a user in a particular web page and then submits a job.
I need to do load testing for this functionality. I am generating load by 1/sec and increasing requests from 1 to 5 and 10 and 15 and so on...
Will this work like 5 or 10 or 15 users logged in at the same time and doing the same functionality? Is there any other way to do it?
