Components disappear when dragged to workspace

I am running LoadUI 1.5.0 in Windows Server 2003 with Java 6 installed. Whenever I drag a component, such as runner, etc., to the workspace in Project view, it immediately disappears. I cannot see a...

loadUI-2.1.0 displays the same erratic ui behaviour for me, though not all the time. Restarting the app and sometimes my desktop is needed for the ui to function correctly again. The statistics workbench also often doesn't open.
