commas being inserted into generated numeric values

I have a Data Gen step defined as a number value that steps up by 1 from 1000000 to 9999999. When I click on the Set Value button, as well as when the step fires during a test, SOAPUI inserts commas ...

Alright...radio silence here, and also from the formal support request I submitted on the same issue. Is anyone home?
