StaffYes. The data can be transfered within one project. That means if you have a project has two test suites and each test suite has two test cases. You can get data from the project level, the other test suite, the other test case or the other test step inside one test case.I hope this will help you.

StaffIf you right click and choose the 'get data' option, you will see the project, test suites and test cases in this project. Then you just choose the data from those places. Please check the attached picture.
The problem is that when I try to getdata()->Testsuite, i do not see the list of test suites. Instead, I just see 'create new'. please advice. Attached a screenshot for reference.
StaffI am using ready!API soapUI NG. Yours is SoapUI Pro 5.1.2. It would be different GUI. Could you click on the down arrow under the list to expand more test cases inside that test suite?
