authenicating server certificates that are self-signed

Where should I configure the certificate authority certificate so that soapui
will authenicate https request to a server? I've self-signed a server certificate
and soapui accepts the server's response as ok even though I don't understand
how it can do so without the root certificate. Does soapui pro 2.5 ignore
server certificate failues? Pl. advise. Thanks.
