Ability to turn strict hostname off

Hi I just found out about SoapUI and it would be awesome to have this feature.
But unfortunately I am running into the same issue found here
http://www.eviware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14188&p=34245

Having a strict hostname is good for production, but having a strict hostname is not required.
Some of us developers (including the ones in our company) have underscores on our workstation and a few of the QA environment (which had to be named close to production, with small variations, like adding an 'QA1_' for example)

So it would be nice to have a feature to toggle the strict hostname naming off so we can do our work.
For now I can't use this tool in my company.

  • This is because HttpClient 4 uses Java's standard URI implementation for this, which HttpClient 3 used a homebrewed implementation. I doubt that we will do our own implementation of some of that stuff to allow underscores.

The only advice that I can give you is to not use illegal URI characters in your URIs.

    Sorry.
