A lengthy request XML string will freeze SOAPUI Pro

Well we had a requirement to send in a base64 encoded string over a SoapUI request message.
The candidate file for encoding was just 2.7 MB. The encoded string was very lengthy though. It allowed pasting the string on SoapUI (pro) request message.
However after pasting my SoapUI (Pro) got frozen. I tried this 3 times and all 3 times it was the same. (It didnt even wait until the test execution)

Note: So now what I can see is just a black color screen with a window header having "SoapUI Pro 4.5.1 (Licensed to .......)"
Basically this blocks my testing. My local testing machine is a Dell Precision T3500 with an Intel Xeon processor with 12 GB RAM and I do not think this is a hardware drawback.

    [Since there was no reply from SoapUI support team I thought of updating the defect with my latest observations.]

    To make it workable I changed the candidate file's size from 2.7 MB to 1 KB. This allowed me to paste the base64 converted string on the request message. However when I ran the test step in a loop, again the SOAPUI pro got frozen.

    Basically this blocks my testing in a big way.

    SoapUI team is not responding to this bug it seems...Is there anyway to escalate this...
