Querying/Exporting more than 1000 test cases

From what I can see, filters on test cases only return the first 1000 results. The counter at the bottom of the 20 pages of 50 records says, "x-y of 1000+" but there doesn't seem to be a way to get at the rest. That's also all I can export using "Export Excel CSV" as it is presumably exporting only what was retrieved by the initial query.

Is there a functional way around this apparent limitation, or does one have to segment the data using labels or some such?
