Component field

Hi,

Does anyone know what the component field means?

Is it according to the testing equipment or app or tester?

Thanks!

I would say it references the name of the test object (component, product, system, app) which the test case is testing.

It's the Jira Component field.  To use, you would create Components in Jira first, and then you will see them in Zephyr Scale.  I haven't extensively used this feature for test cases as it seems to be nothing more than a field that can be used to filter/find test cases.  You can't click on the Jira Component, for example, and then see all issues and tests (which would be useful).  But, if you're looking for a way to group tests logically by a Component and you area also tracking issues using Components, this might be beneficial.

By the way, the same is true for Test Cycle Releases - that is also driven by Jira.
