Web TestCase Recording - form fields will not accept input

I am evaluating the possible use of soapUI for the automation of web user interface testing.

When I try to create a new web testcase and start recording I can browse to a web page with an input form but am unable to enter any data into the form.

This is pretty much a simple out of the box first up test for soapUI - I'm surprised it does not work. Has anyone seen this before and found a cause/resolution. I have tried download the lastest soapUI PRO 4.0.0 (trial) but it give the same behaviour.

I see there are global soapUI preferences for HTTP settings and Web Recording Settings and wonder if these are my problem. If someone has this feature working can they provide screen shots for those tabs?

Thanks
Steve

I can't help you, but I wanted to let you know that it's not just you--I have exactly the same problem!! Just installed SoapUI the other day to evaluate it and immediately ran into this. It is very dispiriting.
  • Not sure why but I am now able to enter input into form fields.

I think it may be related to a restart of the WindowsXP laptop I am using. Since restarting I have not had the problem.
  • I have this same problem, and am in the same situation of evaluating this software for use by my company. I have tried to restart my computer but have the same behavior. I am running version 4.0.0 on Windows7.

I am trying to click on a text field to enter some text, but when I click on the text field it instantly loses focus.

Same problem here. Tried to input user name and password and I can't. Any status on this issue?

  • Same for me - Using Win7 64bit + SoapUI Pro 4.0 32bit trial.

Our application is ASP.NET, I'm wondering if it's the post-back JavaScript handling that is causing the issue??
