Using groovyUtils.getXmlHolder to XMLs in properties

Hi, I found the groovyUtils.getXmlHolder works on something like ("login#Request"). Can I take ${#Project#MyRequest} as the input?
Or how am I supposed to manip the xml in the properties (as an input).
