SoapUI Requirements

I'm looking to create a backup of the requirements I've entered into SoapUI:

1) Where is this information stored?

2) If it's stored within a project ... when I add new data to the requirements area it is picked up by version control and I can backup my requirements that way ... the problem comes in when I try to modify a data row for a requirement that already exists ... if I modify an existing requirement our version control software does not pick up that a change has been made to the project (just so you know we are using subversion). Is there a way around this problem that you know of?
