How to become an IT guru?
First, let me say that I can already command Maven to run my Selenese tests, and I looked in the right POM file and saw the plugin there to do the same thing with Eviware. Thats next...
But what I want to ask you all is, what's the fastest road to being a true IT boss? When I say boss I mean getting your face in Wired magazine for making a killer app (doesn't have to be phone-based at all). Does anyone here want to do that, or has tried? I think it would be easy for like 3 gurus coding a proper social exploit, an app that everyone could buy for like 15 bucks and use it to make their own 'thoughts' even better, thus increasing their own 'rep'. You see it appeals to ones self-centered ego but the actual result is self-improvement, thus being a boon to society instead of a corporate leaching mechanism. I have a actual detailed concept for doing something like this, but I ain't saying it out loud! Please respond, especially if you are a east-coast pro(closer to DC the better) with 1337 java skills. I can't pay anyone, but I would like to talk to some folks who are hungry to do some guerilla development (I am QA, and BA, and Scum Master). I am trying to form a young team that could damn well make several millions. And if I met people that could help me move beyond the drawing-board phase, I would agree to all the potential revenue sharing fairly and up front, and would never try and screw everyone like that Facebook kid.
Thanks everyone for reading I hope you can draw some inspiration from this audacious post.
