Adding header to SOAPUI project files

We have created a SOAPUI project using a WSDL file that does not have a header , but we would like to add header information to the SOAP files(based on a message in canonical format).
We see 2 options
1. Modify WSDl to add Header info and then recreate the SOAPUI project.
2. Manually add header information to the SOAPUI project file(time consuming)

Are these options effective or is there other better way to resolve this issue?
