- SwoopFrequent ContributorI had a co-worker show me how to do this, and its a very easy drag-and-drop solution.
1. From the Test Management tab, click on Test Library.
2. Click on the test you want to copy the test steps INTO
3. Click on the Steps tab
4. In the pane on the right-hand side of the screen choose the folder of the test case you want to copy the test steps FROM
5. You can use the optional filter, if needed.
6. Select the actual test that contains the test steps you want to copy FROM
7. Using your mouse, select the step sequences you want to copy, and drag them into the test step pane, releasing when the icon changes from a red-strike-circle to a green checkbox
Done! - Generally I do :Press CTRL and select steps by clicking on it by ur mouse .later do copy by pressing ctrl+c. Go to test case where u want to copy the steps and press CTRL+V.. JOB DONE. :-)..
For huge steps importing is what make sense. - SwoopFrequent ContributorSupport replied: At this time the application doesn't have a function to copy test steps from one test to another. The only way you can do this is export the test steps into a CSV file and then import them again into the test you would like the steps to be in.
- SwoopFrequent ContributorI do not see a way to import test steps from a CSV file into an existing test case. Do you have a tutorial showing how to accomplish that?
It seems any imported file is meant to create new test case(s).
