Custom Fields can be defined as plain text or as rich text. If you need formatting capability in your custom field, use any of the first ten custom fields, which are the largest. Set the Field Type to Text and set the Field Size to 8000.
The rich text editor is automatically enabled for any text field larger than 100 characters. You can turn off the rich text editor by including an underscore (_) in the field name: this makes your custom text field a plain text only field.
