Enforcing Linkages?

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for enforcing linkages in QAComplete.  As part of our testing process we want all defects to be linked to a Release and Requirement (at a minimum).  No matter how much you train users, if you don't make something required, it will be forgotten a lot of the time. 



I know you can only enforce required fields, but I was curious if anyone has attempted to implement some kind of solution to make links required?  If not, I would like to suggest this idea as a future enhancement to the product.  Thanks.
