Cucumber version maintenance, end of support policy

Hi I am using an older version (4.2) of cucumber.io for java
I would like to know if there is any documentation which state when will the community stop supporting versions
for example if I have issue and I am using 4.2, can I open new issue and expect it to be fixed in 4.x OR I would have to upgrade to the latest? (sometimes it can be a major version jump)

 

I tried looking for it in the forum, github, google and cucumber.io website

    Releases are made at discretion of the maintainers. In practice this means that only the latest release is supported.
