Re: How to generate JWT TOKEN from Postman
Hi Fernando. This is the single most useful thing I've found in ages. I only use Postman and I'm not a developer so I had absolutely no idea how to generate a JWT using all the other methods described. This is really helpful. Thank you. Hi We've recently migrated from Server to Cloud. I have a report I need to get out by the end of the week that used to work perfectly on Server but on Cloud I've discovered that while test step comments are included in the Test Cycle export the main test execution comment isn't. We used this field to inform our customers why a test is in a particular state so it's absolutely vital that I extract this information as it forms an integral part of the report. SmartBear have told me to create a custom field, but as I have 507 tests, I can't update them manually because I'd have to open them all one by one. Updated to add that I've just been told absolutely flatly that I can't do it so I need to create a field call 'Test Execution Comments' and my testers are going to have to manually open and update 507 tests and going forward we're going to have to put the information into both the custom field and the Zephyr field because our Midori reports extract the Zephyr field while SmartBear can't extract it themselves. This is absolutely dreadful - I've had nothing but trouble with Zephyr Squad for Cloud. If I was starting from scratch in Jira Test Management on Cloud, I'd have chosen something else. Can anyone else suggest a workaround for this?11 months agoPlace Zephyr Squad QuestionsZephyr Squad Questions398Views0likes2CommentsRe ordering Test Cases INSIDE Test Cycles and Folders - SmartBear you've let me down.
I'm really struggling with how to present my Test Cases in Zephyr Squad for Cloud in way that is logical for my Testers and the clients who come in to witness Testing. No matter what I do, I can't find a work around for the fact that, unlike server, it isn't possible to re order tests inside test cycles. It isn't possible for us to create Tests in a specific order, as we create tests and then combine them into a cycle for factory acceptance testing. This report is extracted and sent to our clients before testing commences. On Server I could re order the tests in their folder and create a report showing our client our planned schedule of tests and I now absolutely can't. I've had to dump out the cycle into a spreadsheet, re order it there, send the spreadsheet to the client and then use a bloody spreadsheet to determine the order of testing and my Tester has had to look through the folder to find the test he has to run next. Makes us look like idiots in front of our clients. The whole thing is way to large to combine all the steps into a single test (368 tests, each of between 20 and 150 steps - and that's just one product) and I'm at a loss. This is utterly unacceptable. SmartBear have been unhelpful with their support person repeatedly telling me it's ok because I can reorder the Cycles themselves. What kind of test management software doesn't let you decide what order you'd like to run your tests in? I really, really need a solution to this and urgently.11 months agoPlace Zephyr Squad QuestionsZephyr Squad Questions468Views0likes5CommentsRe: Re ordering Test Cases INSIDE Test Cycles and Folders - SmartBear you've let me down.
Thank you Sanjeev, I have booked a meeting with you for Monday. I should be able to explain how difficult the move to Cloud has made things for us. This isn't an acceptable solution when you have 368 test cases each of around 50 steps each to run factory acceptance testing. There's no way of doing this as a single test case. It'd be huge and unworkable.11 months agoPlace Zephyr Squad QuestionsZephyr Squad Questions436Views0likes0CommentsSorting Test in Cycles
Hi, We've just migrated to Cloud and I'm unable to sort Tests within Test Cycles. Our tests in cycles have come over in a different order to what they are on Server and I need to get these re-ordered before a client comes in to witness a Factory Acceptance Test. None of the solutions presented here are suitable because we're using components for their actual purpose and cannot use them to re-order tests. The tests in this case would actually be in the right order if sorted by ID, but the sort by ID gives a very peculiar result. Also the suggestion of grouping all the steps together in one test isn't going to work either as we're using the product for Factory Acceptance Testing where single tests have to be run in a specified order. I'm looking at 362 tests in 18 cycles that have to be reordered ASAP - and that's just for one product. We have thousands of Tests sorted into a logical order in cycles, which bear no relation to their ID numbers as the execution order is never the order in which the tests were created. But if we're not able to resort our cycles, Zephyr just became unfit for purpose for us. Any help would be gratefully received.11 months agoPlace Zephyr Squad QuestionsZephyr Squad Questions232Views1like0CommentsCloud to Cloud migration.
Hi Can anyone give me an idea of how to migrate Zephyr data (tests, test steps, executions) form Cloud to Cloud. We are consolidating our Cloud instances into one major site (including migrations from Server). The migration from Server to Cloud looks to be more mature in bringing over Zephyr data, so where do I find info on how to do this on Cloud to Cloud?346Views0likes0Comments
