Trying to create Automation for a react application
HI, We are trying to create application using React, then create TestComplete test cases that can see the object ID’s. However we are having a problem with TC seeing our ID’s. What are we missing, or doing wrong here? He is what we found on the support site. Here is our code (it has two simple buttons that go back and forth). TC sees none of this. When I use I spy it only sees the whole window, not the one button or I am not able to use the mapping attributes. In another example we had, It identified the text via OCR. When I do use the web spy to go over it, I get an error message that “The selected object is not a web element” -------------------------------- <html> <body id="Page 1"> <h1 id="Header 1">Page 1</h1> <button id="PushMe1" onclick="location.href='Page2.html'">Go to Page 2</button> </body> </html> -------------------------------- <html> <body id="Page 2"> <h1 id="Header 2">Page 2</h1> <button id="PushMe2" onclick="location.href='Page1.html'">Go to Page 1</button> </body> </html>459Views0likes2CommentsRe: Running my test in Execution Plan more then once
The reason for continually running them is to stress the system. 3-4 hours would probably be more accurate. This are all UI test (not scripts) mostly using OCR steps (this product is not smart enough and has no objects). 1) How can i put this in a loop when I am running them from the Execution Plan. 2) I like the idea of scheduling a time to run the test. How and where would I be able to do that?821Views1like1CommentRunning my test in Execution Plan more then once
I have a set up 20 test cases that are in multiple folders (for example I have one called Log_in at the high level then 4 sub test). I then have a total of 3 high level folder like this. all the test take about 15 min to run from end to end. My question is: have can I run these same test over and over again? The scenario would be that I want to run this set up test all night.Solved861Views0likes3CommentsCan Automated UI test be run from Azure Devops on an application (not a build)
-So I can see how TestComplete test cases can be added in to Azure Devops -I can see how they can be run on a build -My scenario is the following --Get a new build --Install the application (such as Word) --Normally from TestComplete I run my manual UI test cases --Then look at the Error logs and get the results -My QUESTION is once I have my test in Azure DevOps (if I put them there), can I run these manual UI test cases from DevOps instead of having to launch TestComplete and run them from there? -If not, is there any way to upload my manual UI test case results that I would have to run from TestComplete into my Test Plan in Devops? Someone was helping me and in the processed what looked like they grabbed the test log window, and pulled it away from the main application. Since then, I have not been able to get it to re-connect. The only way I can access the logs is to right mouse on the test set\select panel\test log, then I have to "alt tab" back and forth. QUESTION: How to I get it to dock again. See attached screen shot showing example. ThxSolved531Views0likes1CommentRe: WebUI
Not sure if I replied to your reply or not. We install a shell that acts like a browser. It uses Electron that run on Angular which is a Java script language. In talking to the Dev, the buttons don't have objects, but they do have names that we might be able to find and click on it that way. Here is a snip-it of our code representing this. (also see attachment) "name":"RemainingBalance", "type":"message", "title":"RemainingBalance.title", "messageText":[ "RemainingBalance.accountNumber", "RemainingBalance.balanceAmount", "RemainingBalance.balanceDate", "RemainingBalance.remainingDays" ], "customNavigation":{ "buttons":[ { "buttonName":"Continue", "enabled":true, "style":"kubra-footer-custom-nav-btn", "target":"PaymentTypeMenuSetup", "text":"global.continue" } ], "style":"sbp-custom-navigation" }, "hasCustomNavigation":true, "hasNavigation":true, "navigation":{ "buttons":[ { "buttonName":"help", "enabled":true,1KViews0likes0CommentsWebUI
Does TestComplete support automation of WebUI browers? We have a Shell UI application that uses WebUUI with Angular. Currently when I try and create automation, it will only run through it within sec's becuase there are no objects to connect to. It seems like the only way to do it is to add timeouts, which are very difficult to predict.1.1KViews0likes4Comments
