What does the [PASS] suffix mean on test-cases ?
When running test cases, I usually see a suffix [RUNNING] after its name which is good to know that everything is running fine. But now one of my tests has been stuck for several minutes (up to about 10 minutes apparently) with the mysterious "[PASS]" suffix, and the execution is completely stopped. Apparently the last assertion before stopping is green so it passed correctly. I cannot click in it though because the UI is frozen... After those 10minutes, the execution continues normally. So, facts : - the whole software freezes and becomes unusable during 10min - ReadyAPI.exe continuously takes about 12% of my CPU while doing apparently nothing relevant - I cannot find anywhere in the doc anything explaining what this [PASS] suffix means - killing the readyAPI.exe process and running the same test again would stop in the same way at the same location every time - logs tabs do not show any useful information about what happens during this time Questions : - why is PASS status not documented ? - what on earth does readyapi.exe do during 10min using 10% of my CPU ? Could it be mining bitcoins for example ? - how can a software be so expensive and have such ridiculous issues ?Solved5 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions1.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: The "Custom Properties" tab choice should be persistent
But... the core of the problem isn'tthe fact that we use the tab too often (itwas created for a reason, right ?). It's that the way we use the UI is not persisted in a flexible way. In fact this tab is the only place where we can get a quick viewaccess to values stored during tests at different scopes (step, case, suite, project). It's also the only place we can check our environment variables are properly set on the project properties. We are a team of developersand this tab is more or less equivalent to any debugging interface giving the state of the data. This is why it is of primary importance for our team. By the way thanksmsiadak, I will explore the Properties steps you talked about... but I'm afraid this would be a workaround.7 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions1.2KViews0likes1CommentThe "Custom Properties" tab choice should be persistent
Hello, At our company we have been starting to useSoap UI NG a lot to test our REST Apis and one thing we do in particular is heavily rely on the "Custom properties"tab located next to the "TestCase Properties" tab, because our tests use a lot of these to communicate context accross our tests. This tab is by default hiddenbehind the "TestCase Properties" tab. The problem is that everytime we load a step/case/suite/project, the UI resets the default behavior thus putting the "Custom Properties" behind the "TestCase Properties" tab again. This would be perfectly fine if we used this tab once or twice a day, but to be honest, we never use the "Test Case Properties" at all and it's probable that in our process the "Custom Properties" tab contains the first info we need when opening a step/case/suite/project. These seconds taken everytime add up very fast and can become frustrating in the long run. Would it be possible to at least make the choice of displaying "Custom properties" tab persistent during the program session ? Thanks for your answers.7 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions1.3KViews1like4Comments
