Re: How to use ASCII characters in a JSON call?
Yes, I can do that. When I paste the string into this textbox, the browser omits the special characters entirely. I pasted it into a text file, and attached it to this post. Using Notepad will not show the characters in the string, but using Notepad++ will. The string should look like this: Here I have set Encoding to UTF-8: Look and Feel:875Views0likes1CommentRe: How to use ASCII characters in a JSON call?
Rupert, I'm trying to find that menu you linked. The closest thing I could find is this: Test>Show Test Case Editor> Properties However I'm pretty confident that isn't where you are. Could you explain how to navigate to that menu? Regards, Jesse3.8KViews0likes3CommentsRe: How to use ASCII characters in a JSON call?
I found a similar string in a notepad file with the correct ASCII characters. I pasted that string into the program and it worked. The ASCII characters show up as a blank space in the program, but it reads the string correctly. So my problem is partially solved. However, I would still like to be able to enter these characters at-will and not have to paste them from another document. If there are any knowledgable people that have a solution, please post and I will mark the answer for others to see. Regards, Jesse3.9KViews0likes0CommentsHow to use ASCII characters in a JSON call?
Hello, I am having trouble using ASCII characters in a JSON call. This is the format of a sample string: You can see it uses [RS](Record Separator, [GS] (Group Separator), and [EOT] (End of Transmission). When I copy/paste this string into SoapUI, the program doesn't understand these characters: According to http://www.theasciicode.com.ar/ : [RS] = Alt + 30, [GS] = Alt + 29, [EOT] = Alt+ 04 However, they do not appear the same way in SoapUI, which causes the test to fail: Is there a way to make SoapUI read these ASCII characters so the test can be run? Actually, I had not tried "Maintain HTTP session", as I did not know about the Test Case options menu. After viewing your comment, I found it and enabled the option. That seemed to solve my issue. Thank You so much for a swift reply! Regards, Jesse2.1KViews0likes4CommentsHow do I pass a cookie to the next Test Step in a JSON call?
Hello, I am trying to create tests in SoapUI 5.2.1. Previously, another employee was able to create some working tests, however I am having trouble with the product. The working test logs the user into the web application, then adds an item to the database through api calls/JSON. I tried to create a similar test where an item is deleted, however it seems the trouble is that the login step doesn't pass the authenticated-user cookie to the delete item step. This causes the delete step to get stuck at the login page, as it doesn't remember getting logged in. I can see the cookie in the "Raw" data on the working test, but it is not present on the non-functional one. I have already searched the forums for solutions to similar problems, however those solutions don't seem to precisely solve this issue. If anyone has some insight as to how to solve my issue, it would be appreciated. Regards, JesseSolved2.1KViews0likes6Comments
